BBVA and Cuatrecasas organize the workshop "Photovoltaic Energy in the Public Sector: Opportunities and Practical Solutions in Valencia".

Over 50 institutions in Valencia will participate in the workshop to promote investment in photovoltaic energy

  • BBVA is the leader in offering financing and advisory services to the Valencian Community
  • The bank will explain the range of options that institutions may choose from to finance their projects: loans, leasing, renting, etc.
The BBVA Group, through its company BCL, a specialist in the local public sector, will offer a workshop on "Photovoltaic Energy in the Public Sector: Opportunities and Practical Solutions in Valencia," with the participation of specialists from  the Valencian Energy Agency, lawyers from the Cuatrecasas law firm, and the support of the Valencian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces of the Council of Valencia.

More than 50 Valencian public institutions are expected to attend to gain firsthand information about how to use public resources (coverings and rooftops of their buildings) to earn extra income while providing significant environmental benefits to the Community.

Today, the Valencian Stock Exchange will host a broad-ranging discussion about the key points and advantages of the new Royal Decree favoring the use of photovoltaic energy. The legal, technical, and financial aspects to be taken into account for each project will be reviewed over the course of the morning. Attendees will also be given real examples of successful environmental resource projects implemented recently by Valencian public institutions.

Participating in the workshop are technical specialists from the Valencian Energy Agency and lawyers from the Cuatrecasas law firm, as well as BBVA financial experts who will explain the various financing options (loans, leasing, renting, or other types of financing) available to public institutions.

The new Royal Decree promotes the use of both ground-level and rooftop photovoltaic installations, but the latter will be the focus of this workshop since rooftops are the most viable option for most city governments, in light of the high number of municipal buildings they control (official city buildings, storage spaces, public sporting facilities, warehouses, etc.).

The Valencian Community enjoys excellent sunshine, an ideal average year-round temperature (excess heat reduces the efficiency of photovoltaic panels), and considerable rooftop surface area available for use.

The workshop has the institutional backing of the Valencian Energy Agency and the Valencian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces of the Council of Valencia.

BCL, the leader in financing and advisory services to the Valencian Community, has invited all of the main municipal government representatives in the province, 97% of which are BCL clients, to attend the workshop.
