BBVA launches new "Two Weeks of Savings" campaign in bid to attract €1 billion in funds

- The bank will distribute over 250,000 bedding sets designed exclusively for this campaign by Agatha Ruiz de la Prada

Today, BBVA announced the launch of a new edition of "La Quincena del Ahorro" (Two Weeks of Savings), to be held between October 19-31. This campaign is expected to bring in €1 billion in additional funds. For this campaign, in a bid to offer its customers gifts they will find attractive and useful, BBVA has chosen an exclusive bedding set designed by Agatha Ruiz de la Prada. Customers who wish to receive this unique gift must deposit €3,500 into their accounts for a five-month term or finance an equivalent amount using their credit card over the same term. The bank expects to distribute over 250,000 gifts and win 30,000 new customers with this campaign.
For this new edition of "Two Weeks of Savings," BBVA has sought to renew its customer promise offering them a product to suit their tastes and needs. To this end, the bank worked with acclaimed Spanish designer Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, who has put her name to an exclusive bedding set designed especially for this campaign.
With this offer, BBVA vouches for exclusivity, outstanding product quality, and the signature style of Agatha Ruiz de la Prada based on a combination of vibrant colors - a distinctive offering to match the bank's value proposition to its customers. BBVA will use the designer as the face of this campaign. Each bedding set offered to customers consists of a reversible duvet cover and a set of printed sheets valued at €350.
"Color your dreams"
The "Two Weeks of Savings" will be flanked by an advertising and public relations campaign targeting Spanish households under the slogan "Color your dreams," pointedly reflecting the distinctive colors, design and style identified with Agatha Ruiz de la Prada's collections.
The "Two Weeks of Savings" will run between October 19-31 at more than 3,000 BBVA branches in Spain. To qualify for this exclusive gift, customers will need to deposit €3,500 in new funds into their accounts; these funds will be tied up for five months. Alternatively, customers may wish to land this unique prize by financing €3,000 for a five-month term using their BBVA credit card.
In addition, customers who participate in this promotion will receive €100 in discount vouchers exchangeable for products advertised in the BBVA Services catalog.
Worth €350
With this campaign BBVA expects to raise €1 billion in funds and deliver 250,000 gifts. The bank also believes it will win over 30,000 new clients as a result of this edition of "Two Weeks of Savings."
Starting October 5, the bedding set heralding the new campaign may also be purchased from the designer's own stores in Madrid and Barcelona, for €350.
The "Two Weeks of Savings" has become Spain's largest ‘reward for savings’ campaign, as no other bank regularly delivers as many gifts. The BBVA campaigns have become the bellwether for savings products in the sector.
BBVA has been carrying out this campaign - under various slogans - continually for the past 14 years. In 30 editions, the bank has given out over 18 million gifts, with more than 12 million customers participating.
