Actibva gives award to the best economic and financial articles on the web

Actibva, BBVA's economic and financial news portal, has given today the first ‘Actibva Awards’ to the best economic and financial articles on the web. Voted on by users and jury members, these annual awards are given to the best articles on the web throughout the year. Alberto Artero, alias S. McCoy, Director of Cotizalia, was the winner of the first edition of the awards Rafael Pampillón, of Instituto de Empresa, and Vicente Varó, Community Manager of Unience, were finalists.

Launched in May 2008, Actibva has been one of the fastest growing economic and finance portals in 2009. As announced by BBVA at its presentation, the portal is designed to provide customers with a new means of communicating and access to all current financial news.

In the first edition of the ‘Actibva Awards’, under the pseudonym S. McCoy, Alberto Altero, Director of the Cotizalia portal, earned the most votes from both users and the jury for his article “Los diez olvidos que condujeron a la crisis.”

Finalists included Rafael Pampillón, of Instituto de Empresa, for his article entitled “Cuatro tramas que amenazan la economía en 2009,” and Vicente Varó, financial journalist and community manager of Unicence, for his article “La diversificación y el arca de Noé.”

In addition to its portal, Actibva is also present in social networks such as Facebook and Twitter, and has developed applications for iPhone and Blackberry, enabling users to access its content anytime, anywhere.

BBVA’s portal contains several practical guides and tools to help customers manage their personal finances. In addition, through its Actibvame space, users can upload the best economic and financial articles published in other blogs and media.

The jury for the first edition of these awards comprised Carmen Martín Manjón, Head of Innovation and Project Management BBVA, José Antonio López Gómez-Salas, Head of Tax Advisory BBVA Global Businesses, Julio Alonso, Director of Weblog, Antonio Ortiz, Director of Weblog, Raúl Hernández González, Consultant, Alejandro Nieto González, Editor of El Blog Salmón and Actibva, Jesús Pérez, Content Director at Financial Red, Jose Trecet, Financial Analyst at Financial Red and Domingo González, Editor of El Blog Salmón and Actibva.
